  • Presenting the abstract drone nature photography project: SOUNDSCAPES

    “Where nature becomes art”

Soundscapes is a devoted to the untamed beauty of landscapes. The photos captured through the lens of drone photography and presented in collections inspired by the elegance of sonata form in musical composition.

Soundscapes Volume 2: Volcano Craters unveils the ancient volcano craters of Iceland from above, revealing vast calderas, hidden explosion craters, and surreal volcanic formations shaped over thousands of years by fire, ice, and relentless weather. Seen from the air, these landscapes transform into abstract worlds where rugged textures, perfect circular forms, and fractured lava fields create scenes that feel almost unreal.

Forged by powerful eruptions and slowly reshaped by glaciers, moss, snow, and erosion, each crater carries traces of Iceland’s raw geological history. The interplay of volcanic rock, mineral-rich soil, shifting light, and seasonal contrasts creates a dramatic palette of deep blacks, rust-reds, ash greys, vibrant moss greens, and icy whites — turning the highlands into a living artwork carved directly by nature itself.

The idea was born from exploration, with images captured while traversing Iceland’s south coast, rugged F-roads and remote highlands. Through the unique perspective of drone photography, the braided streams, swirling currents, and layered sediments transform into abstract compositions.

Inspired by classical music sonatas, the collection unfolds that mirror the musical narrative of sonata form with three to four movements including introduction, development, contrast, and resolution. In this collection the series are named like a musical sonata; in Italian. Each opus, or each “sonata”, has also got a name in French.
